LifeSteps Helps You Step Up to Better Quality of Life

LifeSteps is a program of educational resources and tools to help you and your family make informed choices about your safety, health and financial well-being. Some resources are available now, and others will be introduced over the coming months and years. Here's an overview of the health resources that are part of this important new program:

What's Available Now

You have two new choices to access confidential health information and support:

LifeSteps health coaches: Call 1-877-LIFE-123 for toll-free access 24 hours a day, seven days a week to specially trained health professionals such as nurses, dietitians and respiratory therapists. Health coaches can assist you with health information, education and decision support. They can also help you understand available treatment options so you can work better with your doctor to address any health risks or conditions.

LifeSteps Online: With LifeSteps Online, you and your family have easy access to online resources for actively managing your health and well-being. The first resource to launch is the Dialog Center^SM. This comprehensive and confidential Web site provides easy-to-read information on thousands of health topics and specific medical conditions, as well as the Health Coach Message Center. You can track your medications, receive articles on specific health conditions and more.

What's On the Way

In the coming months, we'll introduce additional LifeSteps tools and resources including:

• LifeSteps local events
• LifeSteps financial education
• Health risk assessments
• LifeSteps scorecard
• Other local resources such as healthy food and beverage choices in on-site vending machines

LifeSteps is a program for American Standard Companies' employees in the U.S. and their family members who are eligible for coverage under our health insurance plans.

While LifeSteps is sponsored by American Standard Companies, third-party service providers administer many of the LifeSteps resources. For example, the health coaching service, on-site health screenings and the Dialog Center^SM are all managed by third-party service providers. This means that any personal health information you or a family member provide through these services is protected by federal and state privacy laws and will not be disclosed to American Standard except under limited circumstances as authorized by law for administration of the company's group health plans.
